What should I check before buying a battery for my car?

Size: Must fit the dimensions specified by the manufacturer. There's no point in buying a battery that doesn't fit the niche.

Capacity: Must exceed the capacity in Ah specified by the manufacturer. If the capacity is less than indicated, the useful life of the battery may be considerably less than expected. In the case of a (much) larger capacity, there is always the possibility that it cannot be fully charged by the car's dynamo.

Starting Current: Must exceed the starting current requirements for the motor to start. Although two batteries may visually have similar dimensions, although they may have similar capacity, the starting current is very important especially as the displacement and compression of the engine increases (mostly diesel vehicles)

Type: Different kind of battery is needed by an older car, different by a newer one with start-stop technology, different by another that has a braking energy recovery system.

Warranty: Must have a warranty of good operation and support from the distributor network.
