Spring getaways: what should you check before you travel
05 October 2023
The good spring weather puts trips outside the city, by car, on the "schedule". Safe driving is imperative, but before that, it is good to do a basic check of our car, so that we are adequately prepared, avoiding the unexpected as much as possible.
The mini check-up before a long trip should include:
• checking the condition of brake fluids, engine oils and radiator fluids
• battery check. If you hear noises when starting or the vehicle has difficulty starting, contact a specialist technician to avoid "stuck" during the journey.
• checking the vehicle's lights to ensure that you have maximum visibility but that other drivers also have a good view of your own vehicle.
• checking the vehicle's tire pressure. Satisfactory is the tire pressure that follows the manufacturer's recommendations for the specific car model.
• cleaning the cabin filter. It is one of the points that drivers often neglect to take care of, but it remains essential as an old air filter burdens the atmosphere inside the car, transferring unwanted bacteria to the passengers.
